Statistics sent over by Toronto Police's Meaghan Gray, which show steady increases in robbery over five years. In 2001 there were 4943 robberies. In 2002 it was 4654 and in 2003 it was 5293 and in 2004 it was 5341 and in 2005 got to 5647.
Quick math indicates that's an average of 15 robberies a day in 2005. It could happen to you. It has to others.
The numbers so far in 2006 were not available, but one look at this week's police blotter and it's scary the amount of bank robberies, medication, jewelry and electronics stolen."
