TEST THE ALARM SYSTEM

It is important to ensure that your security system is communicating properly at all times, especially if your system does NOT have Radio or Cellular backup!  Regular testing of your security system will help insure its proper operation at the time of an emergency, and help prevent false alarms.

WHEN TO TEST

We recommend that customers test their system at least monthly or if:

  • When there are changes your telephone service (DSL, call waiting, new jacks, etc.).
  • When you experience telephone problems.
  • When use suspect there is an equipment malfunction.
  • When you have a power failure or lightening damage.

HOW TO TEST :

Contact the central station before you do anything! You should have a card that includes your monitoring account number and the telephone number to call.

You must notify the monitoring company when you are testing your system to prevent them from dispatching authorities on your alarm signals, thereby avoiding false alarms.

Tell the central station to put your alarm account "in test" for a specific time period.

  • Arm your system and then activate it and let the siren sound for at least 1 minute.
  • Disarm the system and restore system to normal.
  • Call the central station again and see if alarm signals were received.
  • If signals were received, contact CANADIAN SECURITY SOLUTIONS for service.
